Awalim is the Southeast's Premier Tribal Belly Dance Company! Founded in 1999 they have performed throughout Atlanta and the US.

Awalim has a new look for an ancient dance form. Our Tribal Belly Dance takes folkloric costuming and music and puts them together in decidedly upbeat and dramatic choreography. The new millennial twist on Tribal Belly Dance is that world music and textiles are extremely popular and accessible and Awalim uses many genres both modern and old to make this dance exotic and familiar to our audiences. Dancing and music are always a cheerful addition to any event and Awalim's beautiful choreography and bright costuming is an eye catching display! Ziah is a full time dance teacher and has taught folk and Tribal belly dance at public and private schools, college events, Girl Scout camps, LEAF Festival and dance festival workshops in 18 states across the US. Awalim has a large repertoire of folkloric dances that represent North African, Persian, Egyptian, Turkish, Israeli and Indian Rajisthani.
