Suvali began studying Cabaret Style bellydance as a complete novice in the summer of 2002. It was shortly after seeing the Awalim Dance Company at the Georgia Renaissance Festival in the spring of 2003 that she decided to begin taking classes Zi'ah Ali. Her first student performance as a tribal bellydancer wasn't until the fall of 2005, at which time she found that she loved to perform and wanted to dance at every opportunity. Suvali was thrilled to join the Awalim Dance Company in the summer of 2006, and has since completely immersed herself in perfecting her technique while learning new choreographies. She has attended many local bellydance workshops over the past 4 years from many noteable instructors including Carolena Nericcio, Heather Stants, Rachel Brice, Rachel Lazarus Soto, Jill Parker, Sahra Saeedi, Zhaleh Farresteh, Zahra Zuhair, Megha, Dahlena, and Zoe. Suvali also takes yoga, modern dance, and flamenco, and has recently begun taking ballet. Suvali has recently received her master's degree in Environmental Microbiology and is currently working towards a doctorate in the same discipline at Georgia State University. When not dancing or studying, Suvali tries to spend as much time as possible with her friends, boyfriend, family, and her 4-legged accomplice, Uschi.
